Population
In former Yugoslav Republic, was Korcula the most populated island
of the Adriatic. For reasons of migration of population after the war
in the Balkans, found itself with its 18,000 inhabitants only on the
second place after the Island of Krk.
The greater part of the population is living from tourism and agriculture,
especially the production of wine and vegetables. A smaller section
deals with seacruising, traditional shipbuilding and other crafts.
On the island there are three major cities: Vela Luka, Blato and Korčula,
which are from our base located just 15-30 minutes away by car.
